OUR HISTORY
In 1977, David & Robin Phillips purchased
the 100-acre farm.  Renovations were made
to convert the farm into a modern dairy and a
herd of 50 Jersey cows were purchased from
a Vermont dairy.  In addition to Robin's
career as a veterinary technician and David's
excavating business, they built their farm into
a notable family endeavor, receiving The
National Outstanding Young Dairyman award
in 1988 from the American Jersey Cattle
Association.

In 1990, due to low dairy prices and Amy's,
Laura's and Sarah's interest and skill with
horses, David and Robin gradually converted
the dairy into a horse facility.  A spacious
barn with 14 stalls and an outdoor riding
arena were built, and an indoor ring and nine
more stalls were added to the main barn in
1996 as the remaining dairy herd was sold.
in 2000, another barn with stalls was added.
David spends most of his time running his business, Irish Creek Excavating.   Together, Dave and
Robin enjoy cutting, reining, and team penning up and down the east coast.  Despite all their
activities and responsibilities, David and Robin's top priority has always been the family.  They
have been the driving force behind their daughters' past and future accomplishments.

Amy graduated from McNeese State University in 1999 with a degree in Animal Science, and
subsequently, took on the role of Farm Manager and Head Instructor.  She and Mark Garber were
married in 2001.  In addition to working as Foreman for Irish Creek Excavating, he breaks and
trains young horses.  Together, Amy and Mark show in the Quarter Horse Circuit.  They are also
the proud parents of Alexus, born in 2004 and David born in 2009.  In January of 2008, Mark and
Amy took ownership of Irish Creek Farm & Stables.

In 2002, Laura graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Agricultural
Communications.  She lives and works in Ohio, teaching, training, and showing reining horses.
Laura is also currently competing for a World Title in Reining.

Sarah graduated from Tulpehocken High School  in the spring of 2006.   She also enjoys cutting
and team penning.  Sarah is currently attending Ohio State University.

The Irish Creek Family has been working with horses for over 20 years and have won numerous
championships in English and Western Pleasure and equitation, reining, team penning, cutting and
rodeo events.
